The power of compound effect

Continous improvement is better than delayed perfection – Mark Twain

So it’s been a while since I’ve written about goals and life lessons in general. Not because I’ve been lazy, but for the most part of this year, life on a personal level has been somewhat frustrating due to work which has been super busy.  As I look and think about how much of the year I’ve got left, I’m already starting to look at next year in details and where I need to be in terms of my dreams, life, and destiny.

This week, what’s on my heart to share is the power of the seemingly insignificant everyday steps otherwise known as the compound effect. My mentor Terri Savelle is known for saying ”do something every day about the things you are believing God for. The truth is, it is an excuse to be lazy by waiting for the big break or the big opportunity. Success is achieved in the small consistent steps you take towards your dreams.

As you may have imagined, this works in reverse, here’s what the Bible (MGS translation) has to say about his

A nap here, a nap there, a day off here, a day off there,
sit back, take it easy—do you know what comes next?
Just this: You can look forward to a dirt-poor life,
poverty your permanent houseguest! Proverbs 6:11

May I encourage you, if you are working on something, keep going at it, and don’t sit around waiting for that lucky break. There’s no such a thing as an overnight success. The people that look like they had overnight success, behind all that is years of hard work and small consistent steps of action that no one sees.

I wish you a successful rest of the year friends, may your lives be filled with joy and hope always as you go for your dreams and make everyday count xoxo
