Successful goal setting technique (step 2)

Keep your vision before your eyes

Where there is no vision, the people perish Prov 29:18 (a) KJV

Your mind always moves towards the dominating images you keep before your eyes -Terri Savelle Foy

Key no 2

The second key in my goal setting series is all about keeping your dreams before your eyes. You know the saying ‘out of sight, out of mind’, well this is true when it comes to your dreams and goals.

Years a go when I was a failure at goal setting and a failure at life basically, I used to set new years resolutions, then I progressed and started writing them down but if you would ask me around March, I would not have known where they were! and you have guessed it, I never achieved any of them.

In keeping your dreams before you, it’s helping you visualise achieving them and it helps you to track yourself to see how you are progressing but also you are basically looking at a physical representation of whatever it is you are believing for. It’s a powerful tool.

There are many ways to keep your dreams before your eyes. Some people prefer to make vision boards, others note books, you can have them on the dash in your car, on your fridge just anywhere. One of the main reasons why the PINTEREST app is successful is that it gives people the chance to put their idea/ dream in pictures and to see as they would like it to be.

Success story:

Jack Canfield before he became the success he is today, he had a dream of earning $100,000 a year. At the time he was earning $8000 a year. He took a one dollar bill and added five zeros making it look like $100,000. He the stuck the bill on the ceiling above his bed so that it would be the first thin he would see in the morning and the last thing at night. That year, Jack’s income rose from rose from $8000 to $93,000 when he got an idea of how to sell one of the books he had published!!

These days if I have anything I am believing God for, I write it down and have it pinned on my vision board where I see it all the time. I have had many success stories as a result of using this tool, including my 1st car, running my first marathon and lots and lots of travel dreams come true!
